Dear Luther School community,
I would like to thank Kathy Bartoga, Johanna Marcel, Cheryl Pavao, Bonnie Oagles, and Dr. Jessica Hedges for volunteering to run our Scholastic Book Fair. This was our largest book fair to date resulting in Luther School receiving a credit of over 2000 Scholastic Dollars that will be used to purchase additional books and reading materials.
I would also like to thank Meredith Khoury and Rita Ferreira for volunteering to oversee our school yearbook for the 17-18 school year.
Our LSO Walk-a-Thon will take place Friday, September 29. Students are asked to wear sneakers and dress comfortably for this event. This LSO fundraiser helps to fund our end of the year field trips.
Our next school council meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 2 at 4:00 p.m. This year’s parent representatives are Tina Bell, Angela Semonelli, and Catherine Zahner. Our faculty representatives are Nikole Kenyon and Steve Luciano. We are still seeking a community representative for our school council. Community representatives should not be a parent or staff member at the school. Please contact me if anyone has questions regarding this position on the school council.
There will be no school for students on Friday, October 6. On this day, teachers will be participating in various professional development activities as part of our district in-service day.
Progress Reports are scheduled to go home with students on Friday, October 13. Due to our focus on social studies to start the school year, grade 3 and 4 students will not have a grade/comment for science as science units are just beginning.
Monday, October 31 will be an early release day for students at Luther School. Parent Dismissal will begin at 11:30 a.m. and bus dismissal will begin at 11:45 a.m.
